Microsoft Rolls Out Changes to Teams Collaboration App
What Microsoft Has Introduced to Teams
In early October, a newly redesigned chat client for Teams was launched, following months of testing with select users and years of development. This revamped platform is said to be twice as fast as its predecessor and consumes only half the memory, thanks to significant changes in its programming infrastructure. Users will need to update to take advantage of these improvements.
- Copilot Utilizes AI to Summarize Messages – The artificial intelligence assistant integrated into Microsoft 365 can now be harnessed through the new client, offering a simple method for summarizing and condensing lengthy conversations or meetings that contain essential points buried within.
- Shared Webinar Recordings – For those seeking to share recorded webinars, Teams provides a straightforward solution. Access your recordings, select the desired webinar, and click “Publish.” All attendees will receive an email containing the link to access the recorded session.
- Enhanced Chat Features – Teams also boasts enhanced chat functionality, with a variety of new features and improvements recently integrated. A new hover menu simplifies the process of replying to and editing messages, while chat conversations can be made more compact for quicker information absorption.
- The Front Row Experience in Rooms Enhances Immersion – When utilizing Teams on Windows, users can harness Microsoft AI to transform their virtual meeting rooms into more immersive spaces. Instead of a grid of individual camera feeds, each displaying a separate participant, meeting attendees can be brought into a shared virtual space, with their voices synchronized to their on-screen positions. This minimizes distractions and allows for a more focused meeting experience.
